U.S. Volunteer Information

There are many United Methodist work sites across the United States.  There are many, many other needs not necessarily associated with the Methodist Church.  Within Yellowstone Conference, teams have been formed to respond to local disasters: flooding in the Roundup MT area, Colorado and North Dakota.  Teams also go to the Blackfeet Reservation (Blackfeet United Methodist Parish - BUMP) and one of our camps (Luccock or Flathead).  Contact Debbie Irby or Sally McConnell for more information.

Below are some best practices and links to get more information:

  • We encourage all teams to have a Trained Team Leader.  Contact Debbie Irby (dirby@stpauls-helena.org), Yellowstone Conference United Methodist Volunteers in Mission (UMVIM) coordinator about trainings.

  • Each team must comply to our conference's Safe Sanctuary Policy. Team Leaders should check with their Conference UMVIM coordinator for specific policies, requirements or expectations related to Safe Sanctuary/Child Protection Policies, background checks and insurance.

  • Select a project at the UMVIM site.
