Introductory gatherings planned for Healing Communities Partnership

Introductory gatherings planned for Healing Communities Partnership

Submitted by the Rev. Melanie Martin-Dent

The Rev. Doug Walker, National Coordinator for Criminal Justice Reform with The United Methodist Church General Board of Church and Society, will be in Montana the first week of November. He will be leading introductory gatherings to introduce the Healing Communities framework for ministry with people impacted by the criminal justice system and offering training in two communities. Healing Communities challenges congregations and organizations to become Stations of Hope by mobilizing existing resources. It identifies the formal and informal networks characteristic of community life, based on the ideas of forgiving, healing, redemption and reconciliation.
Meet others with an interest in this ministry and learn about Healing Communities Partnership — what it is and how it can benefit your community — at the introductory meeting. Or attend a training with a team from your church or organization to plan and initiate your own ministry.

For information about the meetings and training, call Pastor Melanie Martin-Dent at 406-560-6371. For directions to the church and local details, contact the people listed below.
