As wildfires continue to burn around the state of Montana, the Yellowstone Conference has a Disaster Relief Fund ready to assist affected local communities. To give to this fund, go to www.yacumc.org/donate. There is a drop-down menu to specify your donation to "Yellowstone Conference Disaster Relief."

There are approximately 25 wildfires active across the state, reports the National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD). The organization is paying close attention to three fires, including one in Garfield County that has so far damaged 16 homes. About 250,000 acres have been burnt from these fires.

The Lolo Peak fire in the western part of the state has burned nearly 4,000 acres of national forest land and the Selway Bitterroot Wilderness area, according to an NBCMontana.com news report.

Other fires raging through Montana include the Sunrise Fire in the northwest part of the state, one in Roundup north of Billings that's threatening homes and grassfires in Powder River County.
