Pastors Amanda and Grant Applehans enjoy making a celebration of Halloween (their October wedding involved carving pumpkins for the tables). This year they had lots of help turning their front porch into a pirate ship, but were called back to Wisconsin because Grant's mother passed away from cancer on Oct. 31.

A huge thanks to the United Methodist and Lutheran congregations for jumping in to host the treasure chest and pirate hook ring toss game! The gang plank got laid across a puddle before the rainy day ended. Little guys were welcomed inside to color or do a groovy Dem Bones video dance. Trunk or Treat in the parking lot was visited by about 75 townsfolk and goblins that day. (See more photos on Plains/Paradise UMC's Facebook.)

Pastor Amanda is 3/4 time pastor for Paradise-Plains-White Pine UMCs and also 1/4 time pastor for the Thompson Falls Lutheran Church. Grant is pastor for Plains Lutheran Church; these ELCA clergy serve these five congregations and rotate pulpit positions every other Sunday for the River of Life 5 Points Ministry.
