Our friends at Intermountain called a few weeks ago asking if we could cater a meal to 14 of their youth and seven counselors.

They had a camp on Friday, Feb. 26 to Sunday, Feb. 28, and if we could prepare those meals, it would give their counselors the time to settle campers from Intermountain in Helena and Providence House on North Somers Road into their cabins.

We did what cooking they would have had to do, so they could do what counseling they had to do, no matter what, with fewer distractions and more peace.

Francine Hagar organized the menus and the work. Wayne and Kathryn Murray, along with Pastor Kelly, served a nutritious and comforting supper on Friday night, while Francine and Rick and Nancy Trembath served an energy packed breakfast for the camp on Saturday morning.

Our special Bigfork blessing: Francine reported on Sunday morning that she had been told by the Intermountain staff that there was always an issue before with getting Brother Van’s kids to clean up their plates at camp.

This time, though, the campers were coming back for seconds almost as soon as the kitchen crew had finished filling the last plate. As we read from Isaiah that Sunday, ‘Ho, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and you that have no money, come, buy and eat!’

We were blessed to fill their plates and they blessed us by filling our hearts. The more we give, the more we get. And the more fun we have.
