On Sunday, February 24, 2013, Pastor Huston Green gave not only 1 but 2 performances of the melodram "Purim: The Story of Esther". Purim is a festive Jewish holiday that celebrates the deliverance of the Jews from their enemies in the Book of Esther. Good news! HB 133 on preventing human trafficking that the Wyoming Association of Churches is supporting is set before the House Judiciary Committee of the Wyoming State Legislature at noon on Tuesday, January 15 at noon in Room 302 of the State Capitol. It has been put on the fast track and has the support of the Governor.

Those words can be heard in the Fellowship Hall at First United Methodist Church (FUMC) in Sheridan, Wyoming during the Christmas season. This is the third year that the Evangelism/Missions team will invite Military Veterans from the local Veterans Hospital to the church for coffee, cookies, and conversation.

It started on the first Sunday in July with a small branch from a pine tree sitting in a pot in the Sanctuary. The challenge to the congregation of Sheridan FUMC was to make the tree grow. The food for the tree was school supplies. The month ended with a seven foot tree and enough school supplies to get at least fifty children started in school with additional supplies left over.
