Thursday morning, June 7, teams of Yellowstone United Methodists were scattered around the Billings community volunteering at the Salvation Army, the United Methodist Free Store located at Evangelical UMC and with Big Sky Senior Services. The team at Salvation Army made hundreds of sandwiches. The team at the Free Store sorted donated items and sorted and folded donated clothes. The Free Store is just that – people in the community can ‘shop for free’ for clothing and household goods. People that volunteered to work for Senior Services were divided up into teams and went out to designated homes and washed windows and worked in the yard pulling weeds, as well as trimming trees and bushes. As one participant was heard to say, “It was a great morning!”
