Kathleen Ann Thomas Sano Obituary

Kathleen Ann Thomas-Sano the wife of retired United Methodist Bishop Roy Sano, was an advocate for those marginalized in church life. They served in the Yellowstone Conference from 1984-1992 and the Pacific Conference until 2000.

Thomas-Sano, a native of Hawaii, served numerous positions within the church. These included staff positions with the Board of Global Ministries, the California-Nevada Conference and the Commission on Religion and Race. She also was a former executive director of the National Federation of Asian American United Methodists, and represented that group on the Connectional Table, a denomination-wide coordinating body. They had three children (Topaz, Timothy, Barton) and two grandchildren.
